Hi!

I’m Stefa Kessler. I’m a romance writer from Ohio, currently living in New York. Most of my stories center around themes of female friendship, found family, parental relationships, interpersonal struggles, and of course, romance.

My love of romcom novels started with Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall. The story made me laugh out loud and fall in love with not only the characters, but the genre. From there I followed the natural progression of Red, White, and Royal Blue, then Take A Hint Dani Brown and the rest of the Brown Sisters, and so on and so forth. Some of my other favorite authors in this genre include Ashley Poston and Emily Henry.

I love the way these books make me feel and I wanted in on the action. So, I borrowed my husband’s work laptop and began to write the funniest, dirtiest filth I could think of. And then I got paranoid that I might cause my husband to get fired and purchased my own laptop. Since then I’ve started and scrapped many different stories. My manuscript for A Case of You is currently in the query process. I am putting the final touches on my novella, All Downhill From Here, which will be published on Kindle Unlimited in February 2026. And I’m beginning my new WIP, Middle Ages, a trope-twisting genre-bending fantasy romcom novel that I’m very excited about.

I have type 1 diabetes and one day I am going to deal with all of my medical trauma and write a story about an amazing type 1 diabetic protagonist. In the meantime, I will continue to support the #insulin4all movement. Check out T1International if you’re curious about it.

When I’m not writing or working, I like to be outdoors. I love hiking, boating, birding, horseback riding, and skiing. I am also a big proponent of food and drink. Little makes me happier than a warm-weather patio cocktail hour with friends.
